LEGO Star Wars 3 The Clone Wars ISO For PSP
LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars is the first lego game I've played on the handheld.I've never been particularly impressed by any of the series' platforming, combat or puzzles, but I've been able to largely look past because it throws enough variety for you to be entertaining from start to finish, and more importantly it has had cooperative games. Take away the cooperative aspect, though, and what remains is a competent platformer with boring fight and all too easy puzzle. Not bad, just not enough for the charming aesthetic and license to be a must own for anyone over 10 years old.

If you followed the Clone Wars cartoon through the first two seasons, then you will probably recognize the stages of the LEGO Star Wars III. Each level distills one episode down, since the great moments and lets you play through them with a distinctly Lego-like artistic license. The cartoon is silly moments, but do not be surprised when this game takes them to the next level --- it is for kids, after all.
Levels itself boils down to a few repeated elements, although decent, grows tiresome during the campaign. Each stage you take control of a few notable Clone Wars characters using their special abilities to overcome the most basic of conundrums.Actually, calling them the puzzle are being too generous in this case because each time you need a certain character power it basically means it either directly to tell you or flashing the icon of the necessary character. Expect to repeat the same actions over and over again in all the 13 levels to the point where you want to know what designers are going to do before they even put it out. I understand it is mostly for children, but at least in other versions, they try to include some really clever puzzles with kiddy them.
When not in use a few cells in your brain to "find out" a puzzle, expect a constant stream of enemies for you smash, or an awkward platforming sequence. This is not unlike many of the other LEGO Star Wars game (which I enjoyed), but at least in the case of the games they ranged up what you were doing just enough to keep it from getting old.Despite a few welcome respite such as space combat missions (where each time you pilot a starship and blast some enemy fighters), they feel all levels of the like. It's not anger-provoking or crappy, but it lacks the charming, imaginative feel that other entries in the franchise has had.
The lack of cooperation player removes a lot of value. While you can go back and play through the campaign in Free Play mode using all characters you have unlocked so you can find even more collectible, you still have to do it alone. PSP support ad hoc and Wi-Fi, so it seems like an odd omission, especially when it's what people love so much about the franchise. Levels on their own are not interesting enough to warrant playing through more than once when you can not even justify it as playing with a friend.
You can get a little extra mileage out of LEGO Star Wars III for exploring the hub world, but unlike the console versions, there's not much to do. The hub world is a big star ship you return to in between stages. Here you can unlock new characters, create custom characters and unlock any special bonus which really awful mini-games, they have included. If you want to do things like play a terribly awkward round of volleyball with R2-D2, go for it, but these games feel tossed in and is best alone. Involvement of the hub world is nice, but next time there is a need for more to keep my attention.
Concluding remarks
LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars is a good example of an OK game. It's not bad, but its uninspired level design and repetitive nature keep it from being a must-buy for any of the laptops. In an era where everything is able to play online, it just makes no sense for a franchise famous for its co-player to be single player only. Still, it would be a great distraction for children who are less likely to be annoyed by the repetitive level design.
